About Tingum Village

Tingum Village Hotel is lovingly run by the Percentie family, where we strive to make our guests feel at home. Our colonial style hotel is set amidst a tropical garden, a short walk to both the famous pink sand beach and the centre of Dunmore Town. Our on-site restaurant, Ma Ruby's honours our family matriarch including home recipes, local dishes and the famous "cheeseburger in paradise."  

We offer 19 boutique air-conditioned accommodations, which are accessible via exterior corridors. Rooms open to furnished balconies or patios, and feature a variety of layouts from studios to 2-bedroom suites.

• In-house restaurant Ma Ruby’s is famous the length and breadth of Eleuthera for its range of hearty, delicious and freshly prepared comfort food. Step out of your room and into Ma Ruby’s to experience the perfect marriage of native Bahamian flavors and American comfort food. Guests will also have the option to enjoy the fully stocked bar.

• Tingum Village is very much a family-friendly hotel equally suited to adult-only groups and family groups. Couples bringing along kids can take advantage of the babysitting service to enjoy a romantic stroll and meal as they wish!

• A full laundry service is offered for the comfort and convenience of guests. In-room amenities include TV, A/C, kitchenettes (suites), coffee-maker (in some) and hair-dryer (in some).

• Perched on the idyllic Colebrook Street and surrounded by lush foliage, one of the most prized and exclusive beaches in the Caribbean is just a short hike from the steps of your room at Tingum Village. Largely untouched and exquisitely beautiful, the pink sands and clear blue waters stretch the Eastern length of Harbour Island and offer breathtaking views as well as watersports, yachting and diving opportunities.

• The newest addition to Tingum is a fully-equipped 5 bedroom beach house offering a rooftop jacuzzi, heated swimming pool with a waterfall, and a wet and dry bar. This is the ultimate getaway for larger groups and offers an unrivaled experience of Harbour Island.

• Tingum Village Hotel is located on the southern end of Harbour Island. Although the island is walkable, some visitors choose to bike or rent a golf cart to get around

• For many decades, Ma Ruby was the amiable host of both the guesthouse and her eponymous restaurant/diner. Today, Ma Ruby’s daughter Juanita leads front-of-house operations.

• Tingum Village is family-owned and operated. The team is adept at making guests feel part of a special extended family, which helps explain why guests rate their stays to highly!

• Ma Ruby was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth for her services to her community.
